Who is Kurt?

I’m a simple person at heart. I love my family, my faith, and the people around me, and I truly value meaningful friendships. But here’s something you might find intriguing—I have a deep passion for buildings.

My journey in maintenance began around 2000 when I took my first real job at a large hospital in St. Louis, Missouri. Working in the general maintenance department, my role was straightforward: grab a work order and fix what was broken. Preventive maintenance was a priority, and we were provided with all the tools and support we needed to succeed. It was the perfect place to “cut my teeth” in the field of building maintenance.

After leaving the hospital, I ventured into other industries for a time but eventually found my way back to maintenance and repair. Over the years, I’ve held roles such as Chief Engineer at Marriott and Hilton hotels, where I was responsible for everything from rooftop units and boilers to light bulbs and more. Later, I served as an assistant to the Director of Maintenance for a large property management company, working closely with teams managing commercial and residential properties.

In 2000, I launched a general contracting and construction project management business. Through this, I’ve completed countless rehabs and repairs, collaborating with architects, designers, engineers, and contractors to bring projects to life.

Along the way, I’ve built a broad skill set:

  • Training teams in safety and creating emergency procedures manuals
  • Obtaining certifications like OSHA, Universal EPA, and past CPO certification
  • Developing preventative maintenance programs and work order systems
  • Managing vendors, inventory, and security key systems
  • Gaining hands-on experience in plumbing, electrical work, and more

My career has allowed me to explore nearly every corner of building care and maintenance, and I’ve loved every minute of it.

So, that’s a bit about me—maybe more than you wanted to know! But if you have a building that needs attention, I’d be happy to help. Let’s plan to connect soon, and I’ll share more about the other people in the photo when we meet.
